Legal Practice Team Lead, Department of Faculty Support - Georgetown University Law Center

Georgetown Law’s Department of Faculty Support is dedicated to assisting the full-time, non-clinical faculty with the range of their Georgetown teaching responsibilities, committee assignments and scholarly work.

Job Overview

The Legal Practice Team Lead provides professional support to the Legal Practice Program, Writing Center, and Legal Practice Faculty in services that include assisting faculty with the entire range of their Georgetown teaching responsibilities, committee assignments, and scholarly work; as well to the Legal Practice Chair and Writing Center Director with the day-to-day administration of the Legal Practice Program, Law Fellow Program, Senior Writing Fellows, and the Writing Center.

Work Interactions

Receiving direct oversight from the Director of Faculty Support, the Legal Practice Team Lead has as first priority to serve the Legal Practice Program and its wide-ranging programmatic needs, and works very closely with - and takes direction from - the Legal Practice Chair and Writing Center Director.

In providing comprehensive, high-level support to the Legal Practice program and its faculty, they collaborate and communicate effectively with all members of the Law Center community (faculty, students, and staff), as well as with vendors, visitors, and the public.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in administrative support and/or customer service roles
  • Experience with the practical application of routine office practices and techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including experience working with a wide range of individuals
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe
  • Ability to gain proficiency with other office and campus technologies - including GMS/Workday and Canvas

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in higher education administration - particularly in a Legal Writing or Law School environment
  • Experience with Georgetown campus technologies (including GMS/Workday and Canvas)
