Multimedia Technologist, Information Systems and Technology - Georgetown University Law Center
The Multimedia Technologist has primary duties that include but are not limited to:
Collaborates with the Special Events team to plan and execute AV support for
individual eventsEnsures special events receive the appropriate AV support by disseminating
information to the AV team and assigning tasks to AV team membersProvides general AV support for events and classes, both on-campus and virtually via Zoom
Adapts to fully virtual event support as needed by creatively accommodating events that are held either on- or off-campus
Monitors and resolves help desk tickets while providing excellent customer service to faculty, staff, and guests, including VIP guests
Inspects and maintains AV hardware and software in classroom and event spaces
Edits event recordings using Adobe Premiere to be shared via video hosting
platforms such as Vimeo and YouTubeSecures live and post captioning services for special events from third party vendors
Purchases and keeps inventory of AV equipment and related services, and submits monthly expense reports to the Georgetown Finance Office
Work Interactions
Reporting to the Director of Audiovisual Event Services, the Multimedia Technologist interacts with VIP guests, including senators, representatives, and judges; deans, faculty, staff, students, administration, alumni, public relations, Office of Development, Law Library faculty and staff, Department of Public Safety, press, outside vendors and other outside clients.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree [note: consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and work experience] or 5 years of video production and media encoding experience, preferably in an educational setting
Proficiency in Windows and Mac environments
Ability to work independently
Ability to maintain an excellent level of customer service with faculty, staff and students
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Multimedia Technologist is required to be flexible throughout the week, based on staffing needs, and to be available and willing to accept and complete work assigned during flexible hours and/or as overtime. Occasional weekend and evening hours might be required.
Work Environment
Set-ups require lifting weight up to 75 pounds and working from ladders and scaffolding
Work requires knowledge about and use of safety equipment – for example, gloves, eye and ear protection
