Faculty Assistant - Office of Faculty Support - Georgetown University Law Center

Georgetown Law’s Faculty Support is dedicated to assisting the full-time, non-clinical faculty with the range of their Georgetown teaching responsibilities, committee assignments and scholarly work.

Job Overview

The Faculty Assistant serves on a team of faculty assistants who support the teaching and scholarly responsibilities of full-time law faculty members.

Each member provides professional support to ten or more assigned faculty - including but not limited to the entire range of their Georgetown teaching responsibilities, committee assignments, and scholarly work.

The Faculty Assistant’s responsibilities require that they be proactive, strategic and well organized in order to successfully balance a wide-range of responsibilities in the support of their assigned faculty.

Work Interactions

Receiving direct oversight from the Director of Faculty Support, each Faculty Assistant collaborates and communicates effectively with all members of the Law Center community (faculty, students, and staff), vendors, visitors, and the public in order to provide comprehensive, high-level support to Law Center Faculty.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • At least 2 years of experience in administrative support and/or customer service roles.
  • Experience with the practical application of routine office practices and techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including experience working with a wide range of individuals
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe
  • Ability to gain proficiency with other office and campus technologies - including GMS/Workday, Concur, and Canvas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in higher education or a law office environment
