Tier 2 Support Technician - Information Systems Technology Department - Georgetown University Law Center

Job Overview

The Tier 2 Support Technician works in a team environment to provide quality customer service and support within the Law Center’s Information Systems Technology department.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Installing, maintaining, and upgrading computers and peripherals
  • Installing and upgrading software applications
  • Assisting faculty, staff and students with computer issues
  • Troubleshooting and resolving computer problems
  • Documenting and communicating activities and solutions within our service desk ticketing system and knowledgebase, as well as directly to stakeholders
  • Provide support for maintaining our computer labs, audio-visual classrooms, video conference and telephone systems
  • Providing GOCard support services to faculty, students and staff.

Work Interactions

  • Daily contact with other Information Technology Staff to exchange, and/or request information, resolves problems, and collaborates on projects
  • Daily contact with Faculty, Students and Staff of the Law Center and its related organizations – to resolve problems, discuss/consult on issues and policies affecting the Law Center, and collaborate on projects
  • Daily interaction with Faculty, Students and Staff, as well as UIS colleagues to efficiently and effectively resolve GOCard and account transaction information requests

Requirements and Qualifications

  • BS in computer science/engineering related field
  • At least 4 years of related experience [note: consideration given for additional education in place of experience or additional experience in place of education]

Preferred qualifications

  • An additional 2 years of related experience
  • Availability and willingness to work day, evening and weekend hours as assigned
