About Global Witness:

At Global Witness we exist to change the system.

We believe the climate crisis is one sided.  The side that holds all the cards is big business and the side that bears the brunt is ordinary people often thousands of miles away.

Through our investigations, advocacy, and communications our vision is to redress the balance so communities can speak out and it’s the end of business as usual for giant corporations.

About the role

This is an exciting role where you will take ownership for, manage and oversee the financial accounting processes and functions of all Global Witness entities, ensuring that they are efficient and compliant, and always operate effectively.  You will also ensure that the financial records accurately reflect the transactions of the organisation.

This role will play an active role in the Leadership community taking part in organisation wide initiatives.

 About you

You will have a proactive, positive, ‘can do’ approach.  With new ideas and approaches you will bring the financial accounting function to a modern footing that meets stake holders’ needs and you will have aptitude and interest in the improvement of systems and processes to maximise the teams efficiency.

Attention to detail is key in the role, so you will be meticulous, well organised and an effective problem solver.

You thrive on responsibility and completing tasks in a timely manner with good communication and you are equally comfortable working independently, and in a team, to deliver excellence. Working collaboratively is key as you will frequently interact with Budget holders, fundraising, and other support staff.

Working for us

Global Witness has a talented team of people worldwide with offices in London, Washington DC, and Brussels. We aim to be a diverse and inclusive place to work. We value new perspectives, original ideas, and different ways of working. We believe that diverse views and experiences improve the way we do our work. We do our best to make our jobs accessible to all regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, or identity.

We offer an excellent benefits package including a competitive salary and 25 days annual leave (excl. Bank Holidays). We also offer healthcare insurance, wellbeing days and policies to support you during key life events.

This role is based in London and therefore to be considered you must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK. We operate a hybrid working model which requires at least 2 days in the office.
